Sites of Historical and Archeological Interest

The Dordogne and Vezere valleys are rich in sites going back to prehistoric times. The important village of Les Eyzies is 35 mins away with many caves and grottos' accesible to the public all over the region.
We are in the centre of the region of France known as the le Pays de Bastides. A Bastide was a fortified town or village (mostly built by the English) dating back to the 100 years war when all of this part of France was ruled by the Kings of England. The buildings and architecture are therefore familiar and original just as they were built all those years ago.
